Robert Baxter

Born from the desire to represent their community visually and sonically, Robert Baxter is a versatile artist who has evolved from creating beats in their rural hometown to becoming a dynamic presence in Naarm/Melbourne's vibrant music scene. By bending genres and incorporating their background in dance, modelling, and theatre, Robert crafts energetic, never-the-same shows, establishing themselves as one of Australia’s most exciting emerging acts.

With a pop/club sound and emotive lyrics, Robert’s second ep stargirl including singles “SUSPICIOUS,” “CAMBOY,” and the Devaura collaboration “TAIPEI DREAMS” have earned national attention, gaining support from Rolling Stone, triple j, Rage (Wild Ones video), and a cover feature in The Music, while new single “ICY (TAKE IT OFF)” exploded online, quickly becoming a fan favourite and viral moment.

Drawing comparisons to Troye Sivan, PinkPantheress, and Caroline Polacheck, Robert has headlined two sold-out shows, played major festivals including Midsumma and Ability Fest, and appeared on lineups for Melbourne Fringe, Victoria’s Pride, Brunswick Music Festival, and more. They’ve supported artists such as G Flip, Blusher, Charley and Devaura.

A true multi-hyphenate, Robert has modelled for Nike, Grazia Malaysia, and L'Officiel Philippines, walked Melbourne and Australian Fashion Week, and starred in a short film by Arts Centre Melbourne. Within Naarm’s Ballroom Scene, they’re known as ‘Cupid Silky,’ and they channel that same energy into curating the queer club night, Club Cupid. Their work in the DJ and nightlife space bleeds into their futurepop taste and immersive live experience.
